Arlington, TX, Newspaper Clipping - 1950
Two clippings dealing with The Spinners. The one on the right, from the Corpus Christi Times Caller, has them playing in that city Friday, November 20, 1959. (With Johnny Cash headlining) The clipping on the right From the Herald paper in New Klamath Falls, Oregon, has them in that city just a week later, Saturday, November 28. They clearly covered a good bit of ground in a week.
Grady Owen, circa mid 1960s
From the Courier Gazette, McKinney, TX, 11 January, 1972
From the Herald Banner, Greenville, TX, 6 August, 1972
From the Fresno Bee, 11 November, 1973. Grady is referred to as a TV star with appearances on Lawrence Welk, Dick Clark and Ed Sullivan. Never heard of these appearances anywhere else, but it is possible he appeared on such with some of the bands he played with (Gene Vincent appeared on some of these shows). But, it is likely an embellishment by the club placing the ad.
From the Fresno Bee, 12 December 1973. Another reference to Grady at his long-standing gig at Richard's Restaurant and Bar.
